It just too amazing that a whole year has passed. Mason is walking, almost running, and climbing up and down stairs. He has started using more signs like drink and dog. He even is starting to speak some words, too, like dog, mama, dada, and nana (for bananna). He loves meeting new people and has been an amazing traveler. The next year promise to be just as exciting!

Get ready folks. We know it's been a while, so we'll do our best to get everyone caught up.

Since our trips to France and San Diego, we have had a number of visitors to Chicago, plus a whirlwind holiday season. We've loved seeing all of Mason's grandparents, uncles/aunts, great-uncles/aunts, and great-grandparents. Did I mention how great it was!

San Diego

...And the fun continued, as Alexia departed, Christy and Marshall made their way to Naperville. After three days of watching Mason, I think they were ready for a vacation! So, away to San Diego we flew to celebrate Corinne's Grandparent's 65th wedding anniversary (wow!). It sure was nice to have extra help on the plane.

All in all it was a great trip, where we got to see loads of family that we don't get to hang out with too often. We got some great pictures and videos of Mason with his grandparents and great-grandparents! Everyone loved seeing Mason, though few had the back to hold him for too long.

Visitors Galore!

In a span of two weeks we had a plethora of visitors from Texas! It got kicked off with Carla coming up! She has all the pictures and videos from that visit on her new camera phone, we had a great time having grandma here, she even got to see Mason swim and go under water. The following weekend, Alexia came up for an extended stay to help watch Mason as our babysitter was on vacation. We made an outing to the Morton Arboretum, where Mason got to spend some time playing in the grass and trying to eat tree bark. (yum!)

We had a great 4th of July! We hung out with Kayla, Kim, and Scott's family at their family barbeque, then we saw Randy Travis at the Ribfest of Naperville. Mason is getting really close to crawling. He gets up on all fours and rocks. Check out the new video of Mason and Nolan trying to share toys.

6 Months!

We had a great time in Mexico for Christy's wedding. It was just beautiful.

Mason is really changing. He is very close to crawling, check out the new video. He also got his first tooth last week! I think he is working on the second one also, because he is very sensitive. We have been working on eating vegetables first. Mason has had peas, carrots, green beans, cauliflower, and yellow squash. We just had prunes too, because he has not pooped in 5 days. Maybe it's too much fiber. But, we did just start feeding him twice a day also.

We just took 6 month pictures, so we will get those out soon. There are also a couple pictures from Diaper Dippers swim class.

I was going to wait until 6 months to feed vegetables, but Mason's las of interest in cereal led us to start sooner. He ate carrots, and he liked them! He has also learned to stick out his tongue and does it all the time to get a reaction. What a ham!

This has been another trying weekend. Mason has had another bad cold that turned into an ear infection, this time in his right ear. The one in his left ear is not better yet either, so needless to say he has been miserable.

He was 21lbs 4oz at the doctor when we took him in yesterday! I measured him at 29" the other day too. He is the size of an average 9 or 10 month old.

Mason is now 21lbs and 29in. He will be out of his infant seat this month. He sleeps on his stomach mostly now that he is an expert roller. I put covers in all the electrical outlet this week. He started pulling his knees up underneath him and pushes his belly up with his arms, but not at the same time. It is amazing how fast he's changing!

Okay, we know it's been a while since we've posted. Since our last post, we've been to Houston for Christine and Ryan's Reception, started feeding Mason solids, had a visit from Alexia and Ryan, and celebrated Corinne's first Mother's Day.

Mason has continued to grow, he is now weighing in at 20 lbs (OMG!) and is 27.5 inches long. He rolls back to front and front to back, where he is going is anyone's guess. He loves his daycare, which is very nice.

Mason has been sick all weekend, keeping us up most of the nights. Luckily, no fever, just congestion, and he was excellent during our Mother's Day Breakfast!

After rolling over for the first time, Mason does not seem to want to do it again. He started day care last week, and it seems to be going pretty well. He only whimpered yesterday when I dropped him off. And then I was sad that he didn't cry when I left. He still doesn't want to drink his bottle while there, but he will from daddy at home. He has a 20mo old and a 3.5 year old to play with at day care, and he seems to have a good time.

Here is the little tail I was growing that got cut off.

Mason rolled over for the first time today! We have been showing him how to roll over and helping him to do so for a couple weeks, but today he rolled from back to front unassisted! He is also a strong sitter. He still needs some support, but he's pretty strong and tries to catch himself from falling some of the time.

Here are some of the most recent photos. Mason had his 3 month birthday last Thursday the 22nd. We think he is about 18 lbs and 26.5 in. He just started wearing 6-9 month clothes last week. Although, he could have worn them sooner, I just like to squeeze him into the smaller ones as long as possible. He's already been through 2 wardrobes in 3 months!

The weather warmed up into the 60's and 70's and we have taken several walks. It is nice to get outside! Chloe (the dog) appreciates it very much also.

We are enjoying a visit from Aunt Christine and soon to be Uncle Ryan. Finally the weather is warming up to the high 40's! We took a walk around the neighborhood today.

Mason has been having trouble falling asleep in the evenings, preferring to scream for a while first. Hopefully it is a phase. He has been very hungry the last few days also, so he may be about to grow again.

2 month checkup

Mason had his 2 month checkup on on Thursday. The doctor said he was pretty solid. He was only 16.12 lbs (the scale at our weekly group must be off) and 25 3/4" long. He is way above the 95% line, but as long as he follows the same pattern, they are not worried.

He also got his first set of shots, which was very sad. He did pretty well though, no fever only a little fussy.

I have been trying to take a video of him talking and looking at his hands, but when I get the camera out he just wants to look at it.

I have finally downloaded and organized pictures to share with everyone.

Mason is getting bigger and bigger. He was 8 weeks old last Friday and weighed 17lbs last Wednesday. He enjoys looking around and spends several hours a day alert. He just started looking at his hands this week. He holds his head up very well, and likes to stand in your lap.
